Return & Cancellation Policy


Effective Date: January 27, 2026

This Return & Cancellation Policy applies to services provided by Daniel’s DKI (“Daniel’s DKI,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).

Due to the nature of emergency restoration, remediation, and reconstruction services, traditional product “returns” do not apply. This policy explains how cancellations, changes in scope, and payment responsibilities are handled.

1. No Returns on Services Performed

Daniel’s DKI provides professional services including, but not limited to:

  • Water mitigation
  • Mold remediation
  • Fire and smoke damage cleanup
  • Contents manipulation and cleaning
  • Demolition
  • Reconstruction and repairs

Once services have been performed, materials have been installed, or labor has been provided, those services cannot be returned or refunded.

You are responsible for payment for all work performed up to the point of cancellation.

2. Emergency Service Authorization

When emergency services are requested, Daniel’s DKI may begin work immediately to prevent further damage to the property.

By requesting emergency services, you acknowledge:

  • Work may begin before full pricing or scope is finalized
  • Equipment, labor, and materials are billable from the moment deployed
  • Cancellation after work begins does not remove responsibility for charges incurred

3. Cancellation of Scheduled Work (Before Start)

If you cancel scheduled work before crews, equipment, or materials are dispatched, no charges will apply.

If cancellation occurs after equipment, materials, or personnel have been scheduled, staged, or mobilized, a mobilization and administrative fee may apply.

4. Cancellation After Work Has Begun

If you request that work stop after services have started:

  • You are responsible for all labor, equipment time, materials, and services performed to that point
  • You are responsible for any required stabilization, safety, or containment measures before demobilization
  • Daniel’s DKI is not responsible for conditions that worsen after work is stopped at your request

5. Special Order Materials & Reconstruction Materials

For reconstruction services:

  • Special-order materials, custom items, and non-stock materials cannot be returned
  • Deposits for materials are non-refundable once orders are placed
  • Restocking fees from suppliers may be passed through to the customer

6. Mold Remediation & Containment Work

Once containment barriers are installed, demolition has started, or remediation procedures have begun, the work cannot be reversed or returned.

Stopping remediation mid-process may leave the property in a condition that requires additional work later.

7. Insurance Claim Situations

If you choose to stop work because of an insurance coverage dispute or delay:

  • You remain financially responsible for all work authorized and performed
  • Daniel’s DKI is not responsible for insurance claim decisions
  • Work performed is billable regardless of insurance outcome

8. Customer-Supplied Materials

Daniel’s DKI is not responsible for returns, warranties, or defects in materials supplied by the property owner.

9. Refunds

Refunds are not provided for services already rendered.

In rare situations where an overpayment has occurred, Daniel’s DKI will promptly issue a refund for the verified overage.

10. Right to Refuse Continuation of Work

Daniel’s DKI reserves the right to stop work if:

  • Payment terms are not met
  • Unsafe conditions exist
  • The customer interferes with work procedures
  • Required authorizations are withdrawn

All work completed up to that point remains billable.
